Every day I look at grownups, roaming all the time from one place to another, in a hurry to do things, to catch things, always out of time, never being enough, never doing enough, never having enough.
Since it is my summer vacation, I am giving new meaning to the word “procrastination.” I would like to share with you this new found definition that I believe should be rightfully included in the childhood dictionary. What?! Oh wait, something like this does not exist. Too bad, grownups!
Procrastination according to Eva: take off own shoes and also little brothers’ shoes and roam freely in the garden. Stop to pick up fresh veggies and eat them with dirt on.
Lick some figs from the fig tree and marvel at this year’s harvest of olives still on branches. Watch the ants build a nest and sing “Hot cross buns” as loud as you can. Have absolutely no sense of time and ignore the pleas of the parents to come to the house for dinner.
Be free and be happy. When in doubt about the meaning of life and your purpose on this planet, kick off your shoes and just be. Plant a seed in the soil and watch it thrive. Climb a tree. Marvel at the sunset and how airplanes seem to disappear when they pass in front of the sun. Hear the crickets and fantasize about their secret language. Prick your finger in a cactus and laugh at the sting. Do your own thing, but try to spend some time with your friend Nature. She is really, really cool!
